I struggle with perfectionism. It's one of those things I have to keep working on!!! I read this today in my Parenting by Design Daily Devotional and tweaked it a bit so I could read it often as a reminder. For those of you like me, perhaps it will bless you!
Stop agonizing over decisions because you are afraid of making a mistake. God doesn't promise to give me absolute certainty. He invites me to know and trust Him in the midst of uncertainty. That's what faith is all about! Surrender my fears to God. Instead of being determined to figure out what God wants me to do, focus instead on who He is. I do not always understand the eternal purposes behind events. Faith is trusting that my story will fit perfectly into His story. Trust God's character in the midst of uncertainty and embrace the wisdom and goodness of God.
